-BREAKING NEWS FROM DON ANDERSON IN PROVIDENCE-

*************************
The Humbling
There are the little things in life that make it all worth while.  One little thing happened recently and I want to share it with all.  As you may know, (or may not care) The Ohio State Buckeyes recently won the collegiate  national football championship by defeating the Oregon Ducks.

If you are a fan of football and in particular, a fan of the Buckeyes, it was a glorious event.  I made several friendly wages with some folks as to the outcome of that game.  One of those wagers was with Walt Beringson of Two Bits and Blue Chair.  If  Oregon won the game, I would have to compose a cartoon in which I would have to eat "humble" Duck and post it for all to see. Conversely, if  OSU  won, Walt would have to eat "humble" Buckeye.

I must acknowledge that Walt is actually an Arizona football fan but he was willing to take the challenge and being the gentleman that he is, he has also paid off his debt.  Here it is.

(Actually, Walt composed two cartoons after he thought that the first cartoon might not quite make the point.  Inasmuch as I am not a gentleman, I am posting both cartoons in the hope of increasing his humbleness quotient.)

So true...So true.

Lisa and Drew Aquilina Recently Visited the Butterfly Wonderland Pavilion in Scottsdale Arizona
-NATURE'S PALETTE-

Lisa took pictures, a lot of pictures and was kind enough to forward a "small" selection of  some of the butterflies and moths that are thriving at the pavilion.  The butterfly atrium is the largest of its type in America and possibly the world.

There are thousands of butterflies in the atrium with hundreds of species represented from locations throughout the world.  The butterflies come to the conservatory as chyrsalids from international butterfly farmers and are raised to maturity in a rain-forest environment.

Of particular interest are the Spotted Vampire Birdwing Butterflies of Borneo that are exhibited in a closed-off section of the exhibit where children and small pets are not permitted and adults must sign waivers and wear chain mail vests in order to enter.  The second  photo of the butterflies shows one of these demon insects that escaped and attacked Drew. -I made this last paragraph up.

The first three photos of the building are stock photos but all of the other photos were taken by Lisa.
